New colored pencil art. Yay, me. Feb. 3rd, 2006 @ 08:15 pm

Hoorays. I'm getting better at skin tones in colored pencil, at least. Too much yellow on the skin highlights, though. Grr.

My sketchbook is full, which means I scan a bunch of crap. YAY! Dec. 6th, 2005 @ 06:03 pm
Indie Karen!Collapse )
Pssst psst psst
Karen and Christina. Mostly to show the differences in their body types. Christina isn't big by any stretch of the imagination, Karen is just TINY.
They are totally talking about you.
Awwwwww...Collapse )
Well, this is awkward...Collapse )
The Geek in the Pink
Geek in the Pink
Geek in the Pink, colored. Christina's skin is a little lighter than I'd like, but getting skin tones right through the layering of colored pencils is a nightmare. Matt's jeans were also a nightmare, because I started off with the wrong shades of blue.
Matt's face looked wonky from the start here, and his hair started smearing everywhere (I used the wrong pen). So I had to leave it alone. Le sigh.
A Little Discussion, in color.Collapse )
Oh, those boys and their horrible, horrible fashion choices.Collapse )
Durrr...Collapse )
They are NOT about to start making out. Honest.Collapse )
Shirtless Toby, and Dana gets stage fright.Collapse )
Girls in the Band
The Girls in the Band, finished sketch. Not much to say about this, except that it's probably the nicest bit of pencil work in my entire sketchbook. Which really doesn't speak well for the rest of the sketchbook, but eh.
Do you ever feel like... : coldcold

Massive, steaming art dump. Mmmm, sounds so appealing. Six pictures under the cut.Collapse )
Do you ever feel like... : Should be studying for my Govt II test tomorrow. Am not!
Current Music: None. Speakers not working. ;__;

Art Pooooost! Jul. 30th, 2005 @ 11:06 pm
Usually I scan in and upload stuff within hours of sketching it - these sketches are a week and a month old, and the paintings have been uploaded but not really displayed in any way.

Blood paintings
Don't recall posting these here before. They're painted in blood. The first two on a little notebook I keep for such things, and the last was spontaneously assigned to my big sketchbook. This is the most pretentious I will ever get, so far as naming the art and considering it 'abstract' or 'emotional' will go. :D
Cut for the squeamish. Get it? Cut? Hahahaha. Oh man, I am such a cut-up. GET IT? GET IT? I should be shot.Collapse )
And now two sketches. Click for full-size.

The twins, taking a walk. Apparently they went to the beach at some point. The eraser I was using here was absolute crap, so I tried to use it as little as possible (hence, his shirt is not really transparent, I just didn't want the inevitable smeary mess from trying to erase his outline under it).

Karen and Matt are having a nice, grown-up discussion like well-behaved almost-adults.
... Riiiiiight. Matt looks kind of dumb, and Karen looks REALLY tiny. I may keep her tiny, since it's adorable. Matt has Gabriel's fashion sense, and Karen is dressed kind of like Fergie from the Black-Eyed Peas "Shut Up" video. I think the tube top-over-the-tank is kind of cute, actually. Should have done something with her hair, though.

Colored while doped up on cold meds! WHEEEE! Jun. 1st, 2005 @ 03:47 pm
Two new drawings and an example of why my new scanner makes my old one cry like the bitch it is.
So until this past week it had been almost a year since I colored anything by hand...Collapse )
Do you ever feel like... : groggygroggy

» If your friendslist cannot handle a 600px wide image, I am sorry.

I give you, the Happy-Dance.

I'll cut it if it is messing up friendspages, but I like it. A lot. Yay, Happy-Dance!

This is from page 80's thumbnail, by the way.
» Snippets
These are just little dialogue snippets. Some of them may actually make it into the comic, some won't. A few are taken directly from funny conversations I've had. But they amuse me. No, you're not getting names, though the first one is pretty obviously Mak and someone else.
"When I was in second grade, my parents rented Silence of the Lambs. They wouldn't let me see it - so naturally, once they went to bed Matt snuck in and we watched it with the volume real low and scared ourselves shitless. We didnt' really understand a lot of it. But we loved it."
"You were weird kids."
"You don't know the half of it - for weeks afterward I'd squirt my mother with my watergun and say "It rubs the lotion on it's skin, or else it gets the hose again!" Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I took years off her life with that."
"What's the craziest thing you've ever done because you liked someone?"
"I ate a worm, once."
"What? I was five! What? Stop looking at me like that."
"So how did that work?"
"I was trying to impress this girl. So I ate the worm. Because, somehow, when you're five, worm-eating is impressive, I guess."
"And then what?"
"I waited to see if it would impress her."
"Don't say it."
"That hurt."
"Want a sandwich?"
"I don't want your sandwich."
"It's a delicious sandwich. Eeeeat it."
"No. You were alone with that thing."
"I'll have you know my intentions towards this sandwich were entirely honorable."
"I will suck the delicious cream filling from the twinkie of your SOUL."
"Happiness is like pissing your pants. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel its warmth. Except...with hearing."
"... No. "
"Sadness is like shitting your pants. Everyone can see it. Everyone can smell it. No one comes near you for days and you have to clean up the mess alone. Not that I have ever-"
"I swear to god, if you do an 'eating' simile, I'm outta here."
"Hey, you want a good laugh?"
"Yes. AHAHAHAHAHHA! Ah, thank you."
"Does it count as homosexual if I'm attracted to my own butt?"
"Ew. What IS this? What the hell kind of animal does bologna come from, anyway?"
"I always suspected that it was a cross-section of dachshund."
"What, so dachshunds are solid all the way through?"
"Well, when I was little I usually imagined that their insides were sort of sucked out, mushed up, processed, and refilled before slicing."
"... That's horrible."
"I never said I was a normal child..."
"So what's up?"
"Well, everything was going great, until the cashier at the drugstore told me to 'take it easy'. I mean, I never even knew I was taking it hard! Since then I've been forced to reexamine my life, and all the taking therein."
"I mean, nothing. How 'bout you?"
"Because I love you! And you always hurt the ones you love. Preferably leaving lasting psychological damage."
"What's wrong, Matt?"
"*snif*... My milkshake never brings all the boys to the yard."
"That's probably the second-funniest thing I've ever seen."
"What was the first?"
"The time I walked in on Matt lip-synching and dancing to 'Barbie Girl'. Oh, wait, did I say 'funniest'? I meant 'most disturbing'."
